GREG BAVINGTON Executive Director, Queen's Innovation Connector, Queen's University

Greg is currently the Special Advisor to the Provost, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the Executive Director of the Queen’s Innovation Connector at Queen’s University. Greg started as a student at Queen's University in 1981 after a stint in the Canadian Armed Forces Air Command.

He graduated in 1985 with a B.Sc. (Eng), with honours, in Mechanical Engineering. Greg began his career at the General Motors Final Assembly Plant in Oshawa and was appointed lead project engineer for the $700 million modernization of the plant, which included the design, installation and commissioning of several innovative automated guided vehicle, electrified monorail conveyor, and robotic assembly systems, as well as numerous traditional automation and plant infrastructure projects.

Greg has served an elected member of Queen's University Council, is member of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Campaign Advisory Cabinet, and is a former member of the Queen's Engineering Society Board of Directors.
